Strategic Planning

At the Blaine & Walker Group we believe strategic planning and documenting a great strategic plan begins with the alignment of all stakeholders from the owners, shareholders, management to all team members around the execution of the purpose, goals and objectives in the plan.

A great strategic plan will guide all management decisions and build the confidence of owners and shareholders that the management team is grounded and acting in their best interests. Strategic planning is an inclusive process bringing forward issues and different points of view that the leaders of the organization need to hear.

We use a seven-step process to build a strategic plan for an entire organization or individual assets.

These steps include:

  • A true assessment the entity’s market position and ability to compete

  • Conduct an external SWOT analysis of the management team

  • Review of the mission and values of the organization

  • Develop budgets, marketing and business plans that are not an event but a dynamic consistently reviewed way of doing business

  • Establish up to six measures of success in the plan that are aligned with all stakeholder objectives

  • Complete a thorough business analysis establishing a data base of key financial data to support the plan

  • Base the management compensation and performance on the execution of the plan with monthly reporting and a quarterly meeting of the Board of Directors or owners

Keys to the successful execution of a strategic plan are contingent on every stakeholder being aligned around how their work contributes to the overall success of the plan. From field-personnel in operations, to Board and owners securing the necessary capital to fund innovation and renovation. We can also assist you in developing a Corporate governance structure.

At the Blaine & Walker Group we are experts in bringing forward the difficult and controversial issues that are limiting success and forging strategies that are critical to overcome any hurdle.
